Amit Bhatia Photography bio picture

Hey there!

Thanks for stopping by and thank you for your interest.

I am based out of Singapore and have been doing freelance photography for 2 years now. I specialize primarily in family and wedding shoots.

Photography is my joy, my passion. I'm grateful that I have found this "thing" that's more than just a mere hobby. In the midst of all the hustle and bustle of life, we tend to miss life's most precious moments - it's a shame isn't it? Be it the laughter of a child, the kiss of a mother, the celebration of a bride and groom - I take great pride in being able to capture those moments and offer it as a gift to be held forever.

If you're looking for a studio photographer, I'm so sorry to disappoint you. I don't do studio photography (yet at least). I prefer candid, naturalistic shots set in the outdoors. Remember, it's about capturing MOMENTS, not acting it out.

So browse around and check out my pics. If you like what you see or would like to engage my services, call me at (+65) 93837745 OR drop me a note at amit(at)amitbhatiaphotography.com. It'll be my utmost pleasure to work with you.

Cheers,
Amit Bhatia

P.S. AMIT == A Moment In Time :)

Prerna & Lawrence

Prens and Lawrence are getting married! Woohoo! For this photoshoot, we wanted to do something ultra casual to really showcase those two love birds as themselves. The only drawback was that we started off too late in the morning around 11am (coz some people wanted to sleep in! :P ). That’s when the sun is high and too strong. Any photographer will tell you that the key to good outdoor shoots is good lighting…so waking up early to “catch the sun” is worth every bit the sacrifice. In any case, I’m really happy that they’ve found each other – truly an answer to a prayer! Congrats once again guys!

November 23, 2009 - 5:42 am Shwu - Wonderful Mitty! You have such a talent in capturing the spirit of the moment! The couple looks so good together...they almost look like they could be related! Truly well matched!

November 23, 2009 - 6:57 am Amit Bhatia - Thanks Shwu for the comment!! Your turn will come by soon I'm sure :)

Dilshen’s 6th Birthday

Dilshen is one blessed kid I tell ya! Dressed in F1 gear, accompanied by a magic show, transformers cake, movie tickets for all the families – his parents went all out to prepare the ultimate birthday party. Those kids carried such joy, innocence, laughter, excitement…check out the pics and you’ll see it in their faces. Here’s to wonderful parents and to their wonderful son…Happy Birthday Dilshen!

A Quick Note & Brunch

I just wanted to take a quick second and write a short note  : it’s been a busy past few weeks and yes, I’m aware that I’m behind my blogging. I do have other shoots backed up in the queue to post but it might take some time. Things have been picking up. I’ve received a couple of offers for weddings/family shoots…fingers crossed, more will come by. Here are some (non-official) shots that I took 2  weeks ago during the long Diwali weekend.

Ben & Hannah

Ben & Hannah’s wedding reception has got to be one of the best I’ve attended. There was a warmth and special touch to it – the Fullerton ballroom was stunning, the MC, speeches, video tribute, and of course the beautiful newly weds…everything came together very well. I was a guest and seeing that I wouldn’t know anyone there, I shamelessly suggested to Ben the idea of taking some photographs along with his official photographer, Ash. I really didn’t want to be bogged down with all my heavy equipment so I used the light and trustworthy 50mm lens. Wedding photography is a different deal compared to outdoor shoots.  You need to constantly adapt to the different lighting and simply cannot afford to miss the special moments. Was a great learning experience and I know exactly what gear I’m going to buy for my next assignment (24-70mm!). Many congrats to you Ben & Hannah!

October 8, 2009 - 12:16 am Benjamin "The Groom" Lee - As the groom featured in the photos, I thought I'd give my 2 cents worth: Great shots, buddy! Thanks for your heartfelt tribute to what was a very special day for us too! Some of your candids are fantastic and I especially like the ones with the "back of bridesmaids" and our lovely flower girl, Ellie, posing for you :) Shooting under poorly lit amber light is definitely challenging and I thought you did very well without compromising too much on ISO and sharpness. God bless, Ben
